Main Reasons to Buy
If you like JRPGs then you will play the Last Remnant a lot. After I got over my initial uncertainties about the game I found it to be highly addictive and have played it for over 75 hours. The game also has good graphics and sound being powered by the unreal engine, and the storyline after an initially slow start is quite engaging.
Main Reasons to Avoid
The main character Rush Sykes is very annoying and you may initially do as many sidequests as possible just to avoid having to view cut scenes with him in. The game also takes a while to get into and it was 5-10 hours before I started to enjoy playing the game. Some people have also reported frame rate issues and slow loading times that can be solved by installing the game to the harddrive.
My Recommendation
CONSIDER – 7/10
If you like JRPGs then you should probably buy it especially if you can pick it up cheap, for everyone else I would definitely recommend renting the game first as it is very much an aquired taste.
