Main Reasons to Buy

The Xbox 360 Chatpad attaches to the bottom of your controller and allows you to rapidly enter text on your Xbox 360, which is primarily of use when sending messages or using messenger on your Xbox 360. I found the chatpad itself to be easy to use and to not interfere while playing games, the design fits well with the controller and if you have a white controller looks like a good fit. You also get a new headset which fits into the 2.5mm port at the bottom and this redesigned headset can also be used in the controller when the chatpad is not attached.

Main Reasons to Avoid

If you dont use text messaging or messenger on your Xbox a lot there is little point to the chatpad, for while it makes things easier it is not worth the money. If you chat alot you can always plug in a USB keyboard and use that instead. You are also limited to using redesigned headsets with the controller while it is attached as the original ones do not fit.

My Recommendation

CONSIDER – 6/10

While the messenger kit is a bit of an extravagence as I do not use messaging that much, I have found it useful and I myself bought the messenger kit at a reduced price. As such I would recommend waiting until it is on offer or until you need a new headset as the combination of both make it worth the price.
