Background
Not much to say really, Minesweeper flags provides you with classic minesweeper, a “campaign” mode with progressively more difficult puzzles and Flags mode. Flags mode is a competitive game for up to 4 players in which the aim is to find the most mines rather than avoid them as in classic and campaign mode.
Main Reasons to Buy
Aside from a Xbox Live community game I am not aware of any other Minesweeper games for the the Xbox 360. The game is also priced at the lowest XBLA game point of 400 MS points making it good value for money.
Main Reasons to Avoid
You don’t like minesweeper or are happy with the version you have for another device. I also found the angled view for the landscape in campaign mode to be annoying and would have preferred to be able to look down as you could in classic and flag mode as seen in the screenshots below.

Campaign Mode VS Flags Mode
My Recommendation
Buy – 8/10
Minesweeper Flags is a well made version of minesweeper and is priced at the right level being only 400 MS points (~$5 US). The achievements are also quite challenging with a good range of difficulty levels from relatively easy to quite challenging, with the “clear easy mode in 15 seconds” achievement likely to provide a challenge for even the most accomplished minesweeper player.
Minesweeper Flags is not without its faults though with the fixed view in campaign mode and lack of a few minor control features such as not being able to clear all squares once you place all the bomb markers, marking it down in my eyes. Overall though Minesweeper Flags is a very well put together game and worth buying if you enjoy playing minesweeper.
