Game Review: My Horse and Me 2

Game Details

  • Title: My Horse and Me 2
  • Developer: Tate Interactive (Microsoft)
  • Released (UK): 31/10/2008
  • Age Rating: 3+
  • Game Type: Horse Riding
  • Multi-player: Up to 8 player local co-op

Background

The most worrying thing about My Horse and Me 2 is the fact it is a sequel, suggesting enough people bought the original to justify making one. As the title suggests the game is about you taking care and riding a horse in competition with a “plot” revolving around if you can save your uncles ranch through winning the Kentucky.

Positives

The Game is short and has easy Gamerscore

Negatives

Its on my Gamercard and I have been scarred by the shame of playing it! More seriously the graphics would be considered average on the original Xbox and the music occasionally became distorted. The game is far to easy to the point that the difficult mode is the one where you have to decide when to jump as in easy the horse jumps automatically. Most of the mini games are dull and tedious, and the plot could have done with some development and linked side quests. The sad thing is that I could see the potential for an average rather than awful game if the graphics and sound were improved, the mini games improved and the plot expanded so your character is more actively involved.

My Recommendation

AVOID – 3/10

Unless you need the Gamerscore or have a horse fetish you have no need to rent, never mind buy this game.

Do I really need to say why?

Discussion

One comment for “Game Review: My Horse and Me 2”

  1. A good review of a bad game. I really like the way you summarized all the aspects of “My Horse and Me 2″. The review was short and concise. I also like the cut-away transitions betweens scenes.

I just may have to get a copy for the gamerscore though!
