My Impressions

Revenge of the evil aliens is a action packed 360° scrolling shooter similar in some ways to geometry wars, which despite its short length is well worth a look. You travel through 3 levels, 2 of which are vertical scrolling shooters and one of which is a horizontal scrolling game, fighting off the hordes of evil aliens until you defeat the overmind. The Overmind however only appears if you played on hard mode, otherwise you get a lesser flunky to beat. In addition to the main game, there are several minigames that are unlocked as you travel through the game which further add to the replay value of the game.

While the graphics of your ship are relatively crude, the rest of the graphics are quite good for a community game, and I enjoyed listening to the music in the game. If there is a problem with the game beyond its short length (completable in under 2 hours) it is the difficulty as only the hard mode has a lives system, in the other difficulty levels it does not matter how often you die.

While Revenge of the Evil Aliens is not the most technically inspired community game and rather short, it is great fun to play. As such I am happy to recommend this game to all fans of 2D scrolling shooters.
