REVIEW – Dragon Age Origins: Return to Ostagar (DLC)

While I enjoyed playing Dragon Age Origins and was looking forward to the Return to Ostagar DLC. I ended up being disappointed as I found the DLC to be short and to lack originality or innovation and to be overpriced at 400 MS Points.

REVIEW – Mass Effect: Pinnacle Station (DLC)

My first impression was one of surprise, not at the content of the DLC but the fact it appeared on the marketplace with no fanfare or official announcement, though its existence has been known about for a while. I also had fairly low expectations of the DLC given its discription as a “fight club” style station.

REVIEW – Burnout Paradise: Big Surf Island (DLC)

As the name of the DLC suggests Big Surf Island adds a new area to the Paradise city map. The new area while relatively small is quite “compact” featuring lots of new jumps, destructibles and races. There are also several new cars to unlock, 4 of which are “toy versions” of cars previously released in the Legendary cars pack.

REVIEW – Battlefield 1943 (XBLA)

I have to confess to not being the biggest fan of first person shooters as I tend to die fairly quickly and often. So it was with a bit of trepidation that I started playing Battlefield 1943. I quickly found out that my trepidation was not warrented as the game is easy and enjoyable to play and offers a suprising amount of depth for an XBLA title.

The first thing to note is that the game is quite limites as it is just one multiplayer mode (12 v 12, Conquest) and limited to 3 maps (4 once coral sea is unlocked later this week). There are only 2 factions and 3 soldier classes, but despite this the game feels immensely varied and is one of those rare games you can either dip into quickly or play for hours.
