Mothership Zeta is the fifth and for now final piece of downloadable content for Fallout 3, and in terms of the story is probably the best of the five, though Broken Steel remains the best value for money. Mothership Zeta has you abducted by aliens and experimented upon, and you then have to work out how to escape from the ship, and are initially limited to your fists and cellmate for help, though you do quickly get your equipment back.

Another month another fairly substantial expansion to Fallout 3, after last months long anticipated Broken Steel DLC which "fixed" the ending and raised the level cap to 30, Point Lookout has alot to live up to. This DLC is a slight departure from the previous offerings as there is not one big quest but rather several which are no longer linked aside from the setting, and while not as good value as Broken Steel it is still a high quality piece of DLC.

Post contains minor plot spoilers for Fallout 3 and Broken Steel

Aside from a few poorly thought out elements to the plot e.g. how could little lamplight still exist as a colony of children so long after the war, if there was a major flaw present in Fallout 3 it was the finality of the ending which prevented you from continuing to explore the capitol wasteland once the main quest was complete. Broken Steel Recitifies that flaw and retcons the ending so that you can continue your adventure and lifts the level cap from 20 to 30 adding new perks along the way.

It has been announced in the past few hours that Bethesda have outsourced a new Fallout Title to Obsidian Entertainment, entitled Fallout: New Vegas. The limited information to date implies that the game will be similar in style to Fallout 3 but the story will be independent of that in Fallout 3.

Fallout 3 is one of the best RPGs around for any system and The Pitt is the 2nd of 3 pieces of DLC to be released on the Xbox 360 and PC for the game. The basic plot of the Pitt is that you pick up a radio signal and after investigating it are asked for help in freeing The Pitt from the slavers and to get the cure for the degenerative radiation linked sickness that slowly turns the residents of the Pitt into feral ghoul like creatures called Trogs. You then infiltrate the Pitt as a slave and the plot progresses from there including a brief Mad Max 3 Thunderdome-esque sub plot 2/3 of the way through the DLC think "Two Men enter 1 Man leaves"

Fallout 3 is one of the best RPGs on the market and Operation Anchorage expands upon this world. It offers a unique quest set in a simulation similar to one in the main quest and provides background on one of the key historical encounters in the Fallout World. The quest is also fully voice acted and enjoyable to play through. Finally the DLC also offers another opportunity to get the T-51b power armour and other high level equipment.
